Who can apply for the MERO Internship Program?
Our internship program is open to active students under the institutions or universities from Indonesia and abroad. We welcome participants from marine science, biology, environmental studies, material science, and related disciplines.

Do I need prior experience in marine research?
No prior experience is required. We encourage students with curiosity and willingness to learn. Our team will provide mentorship and basic training both in the field and in the laboratory.

How long is the internship program?
The duration varies depending on the chosen track or research project. Most internships last between 4 to 12 weeks, while independent research projects can be adjusted according to the participant’s proposal.

Is there any fee for participation?
Yes, a program fee applies to cover laboratory use, social project, diving project, and accommodation. The exact amount depends on the internship duration and selected program track.

What kind of facilities are available?
Interns have access to fully equipped laboratories and field sites for coral reef research and educational projects. MERO also provides accommodation options, including dormitories and private rooms, which can be booked by students.

Will I receive a certificate or evaluation after completion?
Yes. Participants receive a Certificate of Completion and a Performance Evaluation Report issued and signed by the supervising researcher.

Can the internship be used for university credit or thesis research?
Yes, it’s possible to use the internship for university credit. We encourage you to confirm the requirements with your university.
For thesis data collection, it depends on the project type. Some programs are well-suited for research purposes, while others are more focused on field experience or community engagement. Feel free to contact us to discuss what fits your study needs.

What are the living conditions like?
MERO’s accommodation (dormitory/private room) facilities located in the same area of our office and laboratories in Tulamben, Bali. Rooms are furnished with essential amenities, meals are available by booking, and internet access. Private accommodation options are available upon request.

How can I apply for the program?
Applicants may submit their CV, motivation letter, and preferred research track through the online application form or via email at info@merofoundation.org. Selected applicants will receive follow-up communication for confirmation and program placement.

Yes. MERO Foundation actively collaborates with international students and institutions. Our administrative team will provide necessary guidance regarding visa processes, arrival arrangements, and research logistics.
