BIODEGRADABLE PACKAGING
Biodegradable Seaweed-Based Packaging Project
Our team is developing sustainable, ocean-friendly packaging made from locally sourced marine biopolymers. Indonesia, located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, is one of the world’s most vulnerable regions to plastic pollution. This makes the development of biodegradable alternatives not just important, but urgent.
This project aims to support coastal communities and marine industries by creating packaging that is:
-
Biodegradable & renewable, made from marine-based materials
-
Designed to reduce plastic pollution at the source
-
Aligned with conservation efforts, connecting research with real-world impact
This initiative is ideal to highlight for:
-
Eco-conscious donors committed to ocean protection
-
Organizations searching for sustainable packaging options
-
Universities or researchers interested in biomaterials
-
CSR programs seeking measurable environmental contributions

To advance this work, we welcome support in the form of funding and essential laboratory items to help improve packaging properties and accelerate development.
To ensure the continuation and improvement of this project, we are seeking support to obtain essential research equipment, including:

-
Sealer machine (±IDR 5,000,000)
-
Tensile testing machine/texture analyzer (±IDR 700,000,000)
-
Solar dryer/oven (±IDR 50,000,000)
